Something from Nothing
I sat down this morning with the urge to write but had no idea what I wanted to write about! I have words inside me that want to come out but I’m not sure what they are, so I thought I would just start and see where I ended up!

Funny thing that, sometimes we want to do something but we just don’t know where to start, sometimes that comes down to being afraid to start or worrying that what we do won’t be good enough. Perfectionism has its place, but more often than not it will hold you back.
I write a lot of blogs, most of them I’m not actually happy with but I post them anyway! If I edited and edited until I was 100% happy I would never post anything, and just occasionally I do say something that’s meaningful to someone else or has an impact on their life. If I never wrote anything because I was afraid to get it wrong maybe, just maybe, my words would be missed?
I’m not a brilliant writer, I don’t pretend to be but I write what I’m thinking and, to be honest, sometimes I’m writing to myself more than other people. I find it’s quite a useful way of organising my thoughts, a bit like people who find lists really useful. I’ve tried lists and one of two things happen when I do: 1. I forget to look at the list! 2. I lose the bloody list!
Writing allows me to expand my thinking further than I otherwise would which in turn allows me to explore my own thinking and feelings in much more depth. Exploring my own mind leads me to ideas I wouldn’t otherwise have, and, hopefully, sharing my insight is useful to someone else?
So, I started with nothing and have ended up with something! I believe everyone needs to find a way that suits them that they can use to help organise their brain and understand their feelings. Whether that’s journalling, writing, recording your thoughts or video, or even painting or drawing, it doesn’t really matter, we’re all different. I just urge you to find some way of expressing yourself, do it for you, it doesn’t have to be all over the World Wide Web, that’s my choice, it doesn’t have to be yours. Do what’s right for you and I would love to know if it helps you?
